Sound design is a technical/conceptually creative field that is an integral element of video production. 
It covers all types of music performance and recording, computer game software or any other multimedia project. A person who practices the art of sound design is known as a Sound Designer. Just try watching your favorite actor in your favorite movie without sound to realize how important audio is to every production. Sound considerations includes music and foley effects, like footsteps and room acoustics for example.
This tugboat video is a good example of sounds used to make a statement. In this case it says, “this ain’t no ballet, this is a rough, tough, former icebreaker, made of steel, man-toy of a tug boat.”
Key West tug boat: To a Composer music production is the art of scoring music to a specific visual scene. That may require unique and unusual sounds or sounds sampled in an unusual way.
